Q. How are the façade frames connected to the main structure?
A. A range of connection methods are available for steel, concrete and timber frames, refer to the Design Guide. Where required, project specific solutions are designed.


Q. Do Kingspan install the Architectural Façade Carrier System?
A. No. Site installation is through a national network of specialist Approved Installers across the UK and Ireland.
The Approved Installer is qualified to tender, supply and build any of the Kingspan Architectural Façade Carrier Systems in the Design Guide.
External brickwork, blockwork or masonry and internal linings are built / installed by specialist trade contractors.


Q. How many panels can be installed in a day?
A. Average 45 mins per façade frame panel assembly for 2 people utilising mechanical handling equipment, assuming good access to work site.


Q. What are the delivery lead times?
A. Typically 8-12 weeks from finalised details and placement of order, depending on size and complexity.


Q. What sign-off and site supervision is offered by Kingspan?
A. A Kingspan Off-Site Project Manager will visit site to support the Approved Installer compliance with approved construction details.


Q. Who manages multiple façade requirements and more than one contractor?
A. The Approved Installer is responsible for site installation of Kingspan Off-Site façade frame assemblies, external finishes and all other specific elements under their contract, eg. windows, doors, etc...
This avoids split responsibility on projects with multiple façade  finishes.


Q. Who buys the product?
A. Only an Approved Installer can purchase and install the full off-site façade system.


Q. Who is responsible for handling, lifting and fixing façade panels / assemblies into buildings?
A. The Approved Installer is responsible for all handling and fixing of façade panels / assemblies.


Q. Who handles contractual issues between interface of panel and façade finish when work is subcontracted?
A. The Approved Installer will act as primary sub-contractor and will sub-contract out specific façade finishes through specialist constructors within their package.
This provides the Approved Installer with single contractual responsibility for any interfaces / junctions on finishes.
