Kingspan Off-Site Selected for Manchester Flagship Development

24 Jul 2007

Precision-engineered timber frame systems from Kingspan Off-Site have been used to construct 15 luxury apartments on the outskirts of Manchester. The systems were chosen by housebuilders Sailbridge Homes for the speed and flexibility of build offered.

The Millside development is a three-storey building comprising 15, two bedroomed apartments with lower ground level parking. The building is brick clad and incorporates large glazed areas to maximise light and space.

Tony Lowe, Commercial Director at Sailbridge Homes, said: “We have incorporated Kingspan Off-Site timber frame systems before, with previous projects and we liked the results. We opted for timber frame with this project because of our previous positive experience with the Kingspan Off-Site timber frame systems. In this instance, it was the speed of build and the flexibility it offered us in design that ensured we chose this system. At Sailbridge Homes we pride ourselves on our attention to detail to provide the best possible home for future residents. We aim to provide homes that are ideal for modern life – modern, luxurious and practical – and Kingspan Off-Site helped us to achieve that.”

Kingspan Off-Site timber frame systems deliver logistical, time efficiency, cost and energy performance benefits. This not only relates to standalone structures, but in developing solutions in timber frame that fit within a wider development that utilises a variety of construction techniques.
